After a 15 yr break I decided to get back into riding, I’d never had formal instruction (dirt bikes as a kid) and it showed when I rode with my wife, who I had insisted get training. She was more technically proficient than I was because she had only learned the right way. I started watching videos and some were good some weren’t but when I found Kevin’s MCRider videos I knew I’d found the series of instruction I needed.

Within a few weeks of practicing skills from his YouTube channel, I decided I really wanted to support what he was doing and I became a Member of MC Rider and that unlocked a whole additional resource. If you're looking to improve your motorcycling skills in an extremely supportive community, you found the place.

After a 35 year hiatus, I decided to return to riding motorcycles. Internet searches for instructional material provided a vast array of choices for my questions. MCRider was one that coming up with lessons for the topics I was interested in. The videos on YouTube were extremely helpful in rebuilding my confidence and skill level. I was aware there was a forum for quite some time before joining and am glad I took the plunge. The depth of knowledge from the membership, as well as the willingness to answer questions and offer guidance cannot be overstated. I purchased some practice cones and used the Field Guide exercises to hone my riding skills and my practice sessions are now something I look forward to.

Perhaps the most beneficial parts of the forum are the discussions pertaining to safe riding and rider awareness. One of the forum members made a comment to the effect of ” A superior rider uses his superior judgment to avoid situations which require the use of his superior skill.” That statement stays in the forefront of my mind and I believe it helps make me a better/safer rider. I am much more aware of the potential dangers due to reading the discussions on the forum and it has helped increase my enjoyment of being on 2 wheels again.

I enjoyed your videos for a while now, and this has probably unknowingly saved me from riding hickups. and maybe more. When I ride now, Kevin is constantly on the back seat. Turn your head in the direction you want to go. Leave more space with the car in front of you, move to the right to see ahead of the traffic… as I have free loaded the video for a while, I have decided to become a patron. the $5 a month won't make any difference to my bank balance but might well save my life. If you enjoyed Kevin ‘s video and think they are contributing to your better riding skill. join as well. This is now his job and we should financially appreciate it and keep it going.
