After a 35 year hiatus, I decided to return to riding motorcycles. Internet searches for instructional material provided a vast array of choices for my questions. MCRider was one that coming up with lessons for the topics I was interested in. The videos on YouTube were extremely helpful in rebuilding my confidence and skill level. I was aware there was a forum for quite some time before joining and am glad I took the plunge. The depth of knowledge from the membership, as well as the willingness to answer questions and offer guidance cannot be overstated. I purchased some practice cones and used the Field Guide exercises to hone my riding skills and my practice sessions are now something I look forward to.

Perhaps the most beneficial parts of the forum are the discussions pertaining to safe riding and rider awareness. One of the forum members made a comment to the effect of ” A superior rider uses his superior judgment to avoid situations which require the use of his superior skill.” That statement stays in the forefront of my mind and I believe it helps make me a better/safer rider. I am much more aware of the potential dangers due to reading the discussions on the forum and it has helped increase my enjoyment of being on 2 wheels again.

This winter my wife purchased me a newer to me bike, she knew I just never really enjoyed the touring bike especially when we were both on it. She mentioned if I would get her a bike she would love to learn to ride. So we purchased her a bike. I told her she had to take the MSF basic course. I wanted her to have a head start before we got to class end of June. The field guide has been the perfect tool we had spent about 4 hours in parking lot before I couldn’t contain her anymore and she wanted on street. Thank you again for the field guide it has improved my riding and helped her get a great start. We have a cool routine where we do some parking lot field guide maneuvers and then do a ride. Thanks for all you do Kevin.
